[Fix needed] Recipe addon bug (cut off or double-items)

Hi guys,

just wondering about some weird stuff.
Just checked some recipes and seen that some tooltips are cut off and/or some items showing up twice!

Anyone knows whats wrong there?

I believe this was mentioned before, I think the problem is that someone in your guild is using an outdated version of CharacterProfilier but I'm not 100% sure.

Hi Averen,

this can´t be, because all of them using CP 1.5.4a and i only allow 1.5.4+ to be used for upload. Must be anything else.

Maybe anyone else who got the same weird problem?
Everything working very well on the roster, anything, except this weird thing... mhhh.

If anyone seen the same on his own roster, please tell me IF and HOW you fixed it, thanks.

Yea I get this as well. I thought it was said that it had to do with old data from an older version of CP but I can't be certain. I too would like to fix this if anyone know's for sure what the issue was or is. I had this in the old roster and thought maybe going to 1.7 it would go away but it's still there. Not the end of the world but it would be nice to fix it.

Is it possible that it's an "old" bug and the database isn't having the old "crap" cleaned out properly? You could try backing up the database, wiping it, and uploading one of the characters that can make one of the problem recipes. If it's still doing it, then restore the database. If not, make everyone upload fresh.

Or, y'know, make them upload fresh, anyway.

Mhhh, nice ideas, but i got a fresh 1.7.0 version and a fresh database and (until now) just five or six guildies that uploaded data. So this can´t be from any older data or roster version cause 1.7.0 is the first version i am using.

Please help... not the end of the world, right, but still annoying to have about 30-60% doubles in just one recipe-list!

Have you checked the CP.lua files of everyone? Does everyone have all the full tooltips in the files they upload? It'd help to narrow it down to either Roster or CP.

Ehm, how SHOULD i check the cp.lua's from my guildies? lol
They upload the data, can´t see what they upload

Oh, I don't mean to imply that it's easy to do so, i was just asking if you have. It's possible that theirs are incomplete on their desktop, so it won't matter what you change in the roster code, it won't help. If you can't get one of them to send you their CP.lua, then there's no way you can check this.

Ok, got it, but even IF they upload non-complete tooltips, how do i fix the db now? So i just reset all "recipes tooltips" everytime i see someone uploaded crap.

There is no cure for this. It will come back everytime you clear out your table and someone uploads crap again. For roster there is no way to know what tooltip is right and what tooltip is wrong.

This problem also occurs btw when members are using different local's like enUS and deDE.

I would say, live with as I do not believe it will cause any drama to leave to "crap" in there.

No, not THAT big problem, just annyoing and making some recipe lists horrible LONG ... but ... mhhh ... think we gotta have to live with it.

A solution would be to check items if the itemname or spellname is available more then one time and then only put out the one with the "longest" (and then correct) tooltip.

What about this idea? should work i think.
