302a to 320 Icons upgrade

Postby shaun.voysey » Thu Aug 06, 2009 9:39 pm

Just created an update pack for the Icons.

Nothing special done to them apart from setting them to 40x40.

Zanix, you can do what you like with the file. Including putting it into the Downloads section. ;)

YAY!

I'm curious, what is the source of these images now that Calvin has gone AWOL?

Someone posted these in the forums, I looked over the images as best I could to see if they look "ok".

Before that, Zeryl created an extraction tool using php.
It's in the SVN, but it's quite unrefined. It extracts EVERYTHING from the mpq files right now.
Plus I'm not 100% if it gets images from the expansions as well.

If we had some time, we could get it to work better.

Nothing special done for the upgrade pack.

I extracted the images using Blizzards extraction tool, and copied the Icons folder from the resulting directories.

use the Blpconverter.exe program to convert icons to png. Then deleted icons that are in the previous packs and renamed to lowercase.

Used Irfanview to convert the png files to a 40x40 jpg and zipped.

40x40 is what is used in the previous packs, so I thought to keep the same.

I'll see about putting together a full pack if anyone wants. Thank heavens that Irfanview has a Batch facility. almost 6000 icons would be too much manually. :shaking2:
