Admin session

Postby jeannero » Mon May 11, 2009 9:54 pm

Hello,

I need support on WoWRoster. I installed 2.0.2 version and everything worked fine.
But since à week, admin session is not stable : I need to enter admin password for each page in the admin section, and changes are not kept.

So I've decided to make a new install, but the problem is still there at the end of installation when asking for guild configuration.

Any idea to fix the problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Well, the login process is cookie-based.
If the password is accepted, a cookie is being send you your browser (timout 86400 sec our 1 day)
ON next check (every new page that you open) this cookie is being tested if present, and if its there and still valid (in time) then you are still 'logged in'.
Do your browser accept cookies ??

Btw : this is me having a quick lookup in the login.php source - if the writer of the code has to add something, I'll be glad to know more about it.

Yep, you got it
If your browser is not accepting cookies, or if your server is not serving cookies correctly, then you will have this problem

My browser is accepting cookies (well configured IE8). Tested on Safari/Chrome/Firefox.
So it seems to be a problem on server side.

Could wowroster have some issue serving cookies ? Which test could I pass to verify ?

Same issue again. I don't want to install WoWRoster again.
Fixed once by installation from scratch, once by set encoding of frFR.php to utf8. But happened again.

Any idea or any way to log the errors at login for farther analyse?

Who's your web host ?
(using ovh.fr myself)

Can you give use details about the wowroster cookies 'served' by your host ?

Deleting all wowroster cookies should resolve the issue, right ?

I am now having this problem as well. I have un-installed, re-installed and to no avail. Cookies on my computer are active, as they are working with my primary guild website (http://deathsdoor.servegame.com). The server is being hosted on one of my computers at home.

I think you'll find this is actually caused by your PHP version, in 5.x i was getting depreciated value errors and had the admin problem.

I went back to 4.x and both the errors and admin problem disappeared.
Are there plans to make WoWRoster PHP 5.x compatible?
