I can imagine that 3.1.0 will change a lot, all equipment slot will be "tabled" or doubled.
Glyphs will be exported (and imported in WoWRoster ?)

I haven't heard from calvin if he plans on updating CP and GP for 3.1

is there a time line on the new addon? i dont want to sound like im tring to rush .... or be an ass im just tring to build wow roster in to my site (http://www.legionoftheblood.com) and needed to get to lua file to start the wow roster working ive been tring to port it over for about 2 weeks now and have hit a stoping point with this .... is there any other way to get that .lua file w/out the addon?

By law and high authorities (let's call them "Blizzard"), there is ONE thing (among others) you need to know.

(about) ANY addon that you install in Interface\Addons WILL generate/maintain a file in the directory WTF\Account\LOGIN\SavedVariables
The addon in Interface\.... need to save its settings, your choices IG, etc.
Very handy in fact, this means that you don't have to setup all your addons again when you restart WoW the next day.

So, if you want a file named WTF\Account\LOGIN\SavedVariables\CharacterProfiler.lua (this is a DATA file - no CODE in it) you NEED to have the addon stored in the directory named Interface\Addons\CharacterProfiler [btw the name of the addon is the same as the data file in WTF.... this is often confusing for people (they send/upload the addon in Interface... to the roster to init/update .... that won't work)] but when people start to think, they understand why.

The job of the addon named CharacterProfiler is : collecting info IG.
Just OPEN the files Interface\Addons\CharacterProfiler\CharacterProfiler.lua and rpgo.lib.lua and rpgo.core.lua and you see HOW it works. You NEED this code to obtain this info and file : WTF\Account\LOGIN\SavedVariables\CharacterProfiler.lua.

As a Roster maintainer, you also will NEED the GuildProfiler addon (and you will NEVER touch, NEED, neither LOOK AT the WTF\Account\LOGIN\SavedVariables\GuildProfiler.lua file).

You upload the WTF\Account\LOGIN\SavedVariables\CharacterProfiler.lua to the roster, nothing more, nothing less.
Thisn is valid for Guild Members AND Officers.
Enter your Officer password also, if you want to perform a Guild-wide update, something an Officier ALWAYS wants to do, you will also enter the Officer's (or Admins) password.
