[Request] Glyph Display

Postby Borsti » Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:03 pm

Is it possible to write an Addon like Gems Display for Glyphs which sorts the Glyphs into Classes, Major and Minor Glyphs

An Example:

Class: Hunter

______________________Major Glyphs_________________________

Bla
Glyph xyz
Glyph zxy
....

______________________Minor Glyphs_________________________

Blaaaa
Glyph blubb
....

Hope anyone can figure out what i mean :geek:

this would entail someone having the whole glyph database to make the addon not farfetched just would take a lotta time getting all the glyph names and textures...

Hey @ all,

im the author of the inscription addon on wowroster.de.

The addon is not tested in other languages then german.
But the translation is there for enUS.

Actually the addon use the translation from the main roster localization files, for the profession name.

So if roster is set to german language the addon will look for "Inschriftenkunde" or if roster is set to english language the addon looks for "Inscription" in the database table, where the profession infos are stored.

Maybe in a next version, i will add a override option, so it will be possible manually set the keyword to search for in the professions table in the database.

Actually the addon could only be found on wowroster.de -> http://www.wowroster.de/addons-2-0x/572-inschriftenkunde-addon/

@Borsti

This is because you use a german wow client, so professions will be stored in german language. So in the profession table you find "Inschriftenkunde" and not "inscription". The addon use the main localization files from roster to get the correct translation for the profession.

The addon shows only the glyphs, that can be made by a member.

If a member can not made a special glyph or something else for this profession, the addon is not able to display.

The addon only get the information from the table "roster_recipes".

The tool is nice. But even it was coded from a german guy the Display does not really support German Umlauts and German Characters. Might somebody review it and tell us what the problem is? We are waiting since about 4 Weeks now for this normally quick fix.

Look yourself > OurRoster
And yes. As mentioned here and on wowroster.de: for some it works, but for a lot of users it doesn't.

The topics are (now) correct as I converted the file to UTF-8 manually.
But all the Values from the database (Name, Reagents, etc.) which are displayed correctly everywhere else but not in this addon, do not work.
And after visiting the AddOn the Menu gets destroyed and also other parts of the website.
