Problems with the Thumbs

I am currently running Roster Gallery v3.0.4400 and when ever someone uploads a picture the thumb is't created from the upload itself but show's this picture.
Is this normal or not?
and if not how can I change that?

I wonder if Ulminia is just messing with people..
