hello all i have been trying to figure this out for days and can't
I ftp'd all the unzipped things to the web and set up the DB and changed the permissions as well.But no matter what i do i keep getting an error message.
Any help would be great

Try deleting the .htaccess file in the roster directory

If you have the ability to view the logfiles of your webserver could you have a look in there if you see an error showing up whenever you try to access the page? (before deleting the .htaccess file)

the only .htaccess i have is for the over website there is none in the roster folder

A .htaccess file is shipped with roster. You won't see it by default, since it's hidden.

ok dumb question how do i view a hidden file thru cpanel or an ftp program

The hidden file should be viewable via ftp, but with in cpanel there probably is a preferences section for your file manager which would allow you to show/hide hidden file viewing.

i tried 2.0 and got nowhere lol so now back to the 1.73 but i need hep with step 2

Step 2
All files and directories should be owned by your webserver's user/group
(Example: chown apache.apache -R *).
All .php files should be readable/executable

$ chmod a+rx -R *.php

How would i go about doign this in cpanel

I should add a note that this step may not be necessary

thats the only thing i can think of though for it not working.
I uploaded all the files changed the permissions and i still get an error message like it's not even there lol
