Great mod unfortunately I'm having some difficulty getting it to work with my site/template. From what I've read it's probably a conflict with the template but thought I'd ask anyway. I'm on Joomla 1.5.3 and I'm using the latest version of the mod. When I load the page I get the infamous white screen. IF anyone has any ideas at all on where to start debugging this that would be great! I'd really love to get this thing going but right now I'm dead in the water!! HELP! (please )

Boss Progress module is going to be rebuilt for more speed.

It's done, at last!

Instructions:

The new WoW Boss Progress for Joomla 1.0.x consists of a component to manage your raid instances and a module to present them on your frontend.
Please install the component first!
After installing with your preferred method, you will find a new component named "Boss Progress WoW".
Here you can manage your raid instances.
Add / delete / edit / publish / unpublish and order your raid instances here.
I have included BC and WotLK Instances completely with bosses and boss loot for now.
If you click on an input field when adding / editing an instance, you should get a tooltip with help what and in what format to enter.

The module can be configured as usual.

Please put any problems / questions HERE!
I have not tested the component / module with Joomla 1.5!

Major changes:

* Component to manage your raid instances / bosses / possible loot / etc.
* Choosable instance icon
* Order instances in component with simple arrows
* Module is now able to fetch data for the infobox via ajax, which speeds up page loading a lot!
* Download as german and english version (this only concerns the instance and boss names)

I love the work you have done on this module. Everything shows up on the Frontend, but when i edit the Boss component none of the information saves so all it displays is the instance and no data. i am using 1.5 in legacy mode?

There were many bad things going on.
I first struggled with wowguilds.ca who are selling my work, especially "WoW Boss Progress" with their web hosting service.
Unfortunately I'm not a rich guy and I can't afford a laywer to obtain an action for an injunction on them.

Then I revoked the GPL license for my mods and shut down free downloading of them to prevent wowguilds.ca to steal the recent version of the module / component.

If you are still interested in "WoW Boss Progress", you can buy it for little money on http://www.rootarea.de.
It has all the features as stated above.

With that and the applied EULA, I'm now in a better position to claim my rights on my work and prevent web hosters like wowguilds.ca to steal and sell it.

We have the exact problem with Roster, but we still keep it free (obviously)

So, what can we do against them?
I think none of their offered modules / components for joomla are made by them. They do not offer free downloading of open source software which was altered by them.
They are selling GPL licensed software...
I wrote an email about this to the EFF weeks ago, but no reply at all.

Is the GPL worth anything?
I really distrust this kind of license now.
Nobody helps you, when this kind of license is breached.

Unfortunately that is how it goes, you make a good product and others rip it off

We tried to contact the EFF as well and we never got a reply
And all the rip-off'ers do is say "F-U!"

A partial solution, you said it yourself :
Ability to download each included archive (.zip) 20 times (so you can update to a max of 20 times in case of bugfixes and new releases

Blizzard always updates and upgrades.
This means that what works today, will be utterly broken in 12 months...
These guys that somewhat "use" your stuff now really need some good programmers to keep up with the pace very soon.

And as always, a correct user recognize the source of a product and will get it from there. Don't bother about the fact to some of us say : "I already pay for Blizzard, my computer and my ISP, so the rest has to be free for live"...
Those people will never contribute to all the great stuff on the net, they are just modern parasites. Nothing more, nothing less.
