First you have to activate the "System - Legacy" Plugin, then install the module and edit file and directory paths to the right locations in mod_wow_boss_progress.php.
I do not recommend using joomla 1.5 since it's still in beta.

seems im not using 1.5 and it was a case of my joomla not uploading correctly... i got it semi working now, just got a quick question

the boss links and zone links are supposed to be what?... links to something like allakhazam?... or links to the eqdkp database?

Boss progress

Great Module! My only problem is that I cannot get it to draw the bars. I get an error when enabling that option. Something referring to str_split()

Hello Mokane,

have you entered a value for background and bar colors?
If there's no value entered it could give an error with str_split (I did not catch this error).

The module uses gd_library to generate the bars.
Your php installation has to be compiled with gd so that you are able to use it (if you're on gentoo it's USE="gd" emerge php).
For other distributions it should be compiled in by default.

Could you please post the whole error message?

Hello,

str_split() is PHP5 function and I think Mokane is in PHP4.

I like this mod, but I don't know how to configure it.

It installed fine, but I don't know what to put in the link boxes in the configuration menu to get it to work.

Great mod, but some basic docs would be really nice for those of us with no programming experience.

I am now testing out Joomla 1.5 I saw you mention editing the file and directory paths. What exactly do I have to change things to? I am very new to the whole joomla thing.

I just put this up on a development version of my Joomla 1.013 Sunfire CMS and it's working great. Install, setup and deployment have all gone just fine, and it works in module positions on my site other modules just...won't.

Rez, I'm really glad you're part of the WoW Joomla community. :D

Boss progress

Postby eirual » Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:38 pm

I installed this last week on Joomla 1.013 on this site http://ancient-ones.info/guild/ unfortunately it wouldn't work and I got an error message.
I didnt write it down at the time because I decided maybe a re-install was the best course of action. However I notice the module does not uninstall properly using the uninstall function within modules. It leaves behind the php file and the gif files so a reinstall is not possible till after a manual clean up. Any chance this can be rectified ? I will post the full error message if a re-istall doesn't rectify the situation. Looking forward to seeing this in action on my own site.

On reinstall I have worked out it is only when enabling the progress bars I have an issue the rest works fine. I notice there are already some posts about progress bar issues so i will try those out first.
