Automatinc updates

hi there,

would anyone know how to automate the update of the roster/ the sync by using a cron job or something similar?

Hi,

this won't be possible unless you have workstation that will do that job in a normal browser, but even this will have a problem to enter the needed credentials automatically.

well i was more thinking about a script that woudl run directly on th webserver and could be executed via a shell through a cron job

You can use wget in a shell script with either the normal site url or localhost as the url (experiment). You may also be able to run the scripts by starting them directly from the command line.

This won't work, because the needed javascript reload or ajax updates can not be done with wget.

We've been talking about doing this for UA, you may want to check out the next UA beta, it may have something similar to what you're talking about.
