Postby mtguido » Tue Jun 19, 2007 2:55 am

Hi i have just installed Juniuploader 0.9.13 on my ubuntu.
I have run it and enter in configuration. In "basic configuration" i have to set the wow folder and then select account, but i can't do it.

There is selected a default folder that isn't the folder where i have world of warcaft and if I try to change it, it instantly come back to default...

I hope somebody can help me to set it

THANKS

P.s. Sorry for my bad english, i'm italian!

This is the default folder tha i can't change...the background is red, peraps is a problem?

[PROBLEM]Juniuploader on linux ubuntu

Postby lhunath » Tue Jun 19, 2007 10:47 pm

Where does your WoW folder reside?

jUU won't save whatever you write in the WoW folder box until it's a valid WoW folder (green background, not red). So long as it doesn't save what you input, next time it'll try searching for a valid WoW folder again. That's why you feel you can't change the folder.

Input a valid folder name instead, and your problems will be solved.

jUU uses 'locate' to find your WoW folder on linux. Can you type 'locate WoW.exe' in a terminal and give me its output?

You still owe me the output of 'locate WoW.exe' (Mind the CAPITALIZED W's). I need to see it.

As for updating the roster, make sure the roster URL is correct, make sure it doesn't require any additional Post Variables to be set, make sure you have files selected in the Saved Variables box (most notably, CharacterProfiler.lua), and try manually uploading by clicking the icon to the right of your upload URL. If all above fails, check the log again for any relevant entries.

By the way, tell me what Java version you're using?

Type 'java -version' in the console and give me its output.

My java version is this
Code: Select all
guido@guido-ubuntu:~$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_11"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_11-b03, mixed mode, sharing)

Now I have also select character profile and PvpLOG in save variabiles and click update near the url but nothing...the roster doesn't change!

Is your roster set up properly? Can you modify the roster by uploading the file manually through the roster's upload webpage?

[PROBLEM] Changing the WoW folder.

Postby lhunath » Wed Jun 20, 2007 9:20 am

Uhm. You gave the wrong CharacterProfiler.lua.

You need to give me the one in the WTF/[accountname]/SavedVariables folder. You just gave me the one in Interface/AddOns/CharacterProfiler. I don't need the CharacterProfiler addon, I need its settings :)

The reason this works in UniUploader is because jUniUploader splits this file up and uploads it in chunks. UniUploader doesn't do this. I choose to split the file up because large CharacterProfiler.lua files can cause Out of Memory bugs in the Roster's Uploader.

Your problem is that for some reason, jUU can't understand your CharacterProfiler.lua file. And if it can't understand it, it can't split it up properly either.

So, provide me with the correct CharacterProfiler.lua file.

Also, keep support questions in the support forum. That's here, not on MSN :) That way other people can follow and learn something too, perhaps.
