As i'm on the roll with RaidTracker i'm reviewing EventCalender too, so far everything still works fine (tested both GEM and GrpCalendar).
Just need to update the instance-resets and add an option to disable those (as requested )

Iám not sure if it is of interest for anyone. But for myself I have modified the AddOn to the extend, that the ID Reset will be for the BC instances also.

as to be seen on my site as an example:

!!Before you unpack and patch your files, please Back up your function.php!!

Basically I have modified the functions.php and added the necessary img libary for the BC instances. Taken in account, that this year, we have 29 days in Febuary.

To install just unpack, an copy the files into directory of EventCalender.
