Hello all,
I love the roster, and so do all my guildies (i'm not the GM, but I'm the web guy).

Lots of people are lazy in my guild, and complain about going to the update, bla bla bla.

So i'm hoping not to re-invent the wheel, and get 2 lazy scripts if they exist.

I'm gonna make a simple .htaccess page that they can click a simple button

#1 I was thinking, is there anyone here that has created a simple php script that prompts the user for their character name, and then grabs the characterprofile.lua from their account?

and for a simple download

#2 if i get them to download a ziped file, with the character profile, they can click on a vbs, or a .bat script that will prompt them for their character name and copy the addon to the WoW folder?

more problems really than is worth.
#1 have to worry about .net
#2 have to worry if they have java
#3 most are not all the tech savy, and that means more time for me.

These are way to "over kill"....

If you want something even simpler, look at armorysync. That'll cause you a ton of headaches, but it'll save your guildies some.

There are several programs that provide functionality similar to UU, but all have some extra requirements. Base Windows simply doesn't carry everything needed to do it.

- Customized UniUploader using the instructions on the Wiki with an installer.
- UniAdmin

All my guildies have to do is run the customized UU and click on "UPLOAD". That's it. Nothing else to do. With the connection to UniAdmin, I can get CharacterProfiler installed automatically and even get it updated.

Perfect tool for lazy guildies and it became very popular on our site. If you want it simple for your lazy guildies, you have to do most of the leg work (i.e. learning about UU and UA).
