We have been feverishly working on Roster 1.8 for a few months now and it is just about ready for beta release in a few weeks
Here are some highlights for 1.8
- AddOn installer/config center - Roster now has libraries for the installation, upgrade, un-installation and configuration of addons
- The AddOn SDK is updated for 1.8 - Go to the 1.8 http://www.wowroster.net/MediaWiki/Rost ... n:AddonSDK
This will be moved to the current SDK page when 1.8 is in beta - Most Roster converted to addons using the new addon framework
- A multiple scope system allows easy use of data based on the scope you are in
- The AddOn SDK is updated for 1.8 - Go to the 1.8 http://www.wowroster.net/MediaWiki/Rost ... n:AddonSDK
- Roster now supports 3 auth levels (admin, officer, guild)
- Not full blown auth, but this is the best we can deliver without pushing back development for a few more months
- WoW 2.0 character data now available
- A complete overhaul of the character information page
- LUA parsing enhancements
- CMS integration possibilities have been greatly improved by the use of a link function and a separate link library file
- A revamped main menu allowing button movement and ability to add custom buttons
- Better error management
- New database layer system
- I personally think Roster runs just a bit quicker now
- Many aspects of Roster have some more control in RosterCP (New name for Roster Config)
- Better utf-8 compatibility
- And now for some drum roll...

.... - Multi Guild / guildless / public ability has come to Roster!
We have worked long and hard for this release and think it will be the best version of Roster ever (until R2 that is!)
