Although the character profiler addon gets this info into the lua file roster does not seem top parse it.

İs this issue to be resolved in R2 or is it possible to get it inside the roster witha minor code?

All of the new character panel info has been added to roster 1.8. We haven't decided when the first beta for that will be out, but I'd expect it somewhere in may.
