Possible to link items?

I haven't found a simple explanation for using an item link on a phpbb? I know there are websites that have a method for doing it, but I haven't had much luck finding out how.

For example

Code: Select all: [item]Bringer of Death[/item]

would have the mouseover effects in PHPBB that the roster has.

Item Stats is what you're looking for. There are many ports, Dragonfly being one. I think there's a phpBB port too. Google it!

Interestingly enough, those links don't have a hover for me if I'm logged in...

Is anyone using this successfully? I've had nothing but problems trying to get it implemented...

Mine works great, I have itemstats for my site, phpBB 2.022, and EQDKP 1.32, WoWRoster 1.73.

Each one had specific things for the installation to make sure that I got the paths correct and edits in the right files. Just make sure that you follow the directions very closely.

the newest phpbb thats out. 2.0.22.

I want the itemstats to work off the wow.wowhead.com site and notthe alla site. I find wowhead to be much better. I'm going to see if I can make the change myself. Not sure I can. Gonna poke around the code a bit and see what I find.

If you are using IE7, you will have problems with the mouse-overs. Not sure what is causing it, but IE throws an error over the code. Try it in Firefox and it will probably work for you.

I think a guy posted in the eqdkp forums under the item links section abouy the mouse over not working because of your host.
if your using a free host they tend to put some code in your file which messes up the mouse over effect totally

In your config_itemstats.php file ensure these options are set:-

define('automatic_search', true);
This will automatically go to the site and grab the information without you having to click on the link.

Also if you wish to remove the link in the item window set this option:-
define('displayitemstatslink', false);

On a side note for the site admins your BBCodes have incorrect help information for the ItemStat buttons they are still the same as the List: command.

List: Un-Ordered [list ]text[ /list] Ordered [list=1 ]text[ /list]
For both the
[item ][/item] [itemico ][/itemico]
tag buttons.
