Add-on Menu Config

Postby Deckyon » Mon Feb 26, 2007 3:21 pm

How do we change the order of Addons in the menu?

I manage 4 different Rosters for my own guild and some of my friends' guilds and not one of them have the addons in the same order. Kinda makes it somewhat frustrating searching (albeit just a glance) the menu for which addon I want to view.

It would be nice to be able to easily change the order the addons are listed in the menu.

Add-on Menu Config

There is no functionality for this. The buttons are ordered like they are in the OS's directory ordering. This is in some cases by name, in some cases in the order the folders were created. With windows, it seems to be just random.

Add-on Menu Config

Disappointing. Even if it was a file edit or some thing like that, or a table in the database that would store the addon names and then could be listed in a sort order set up in a config screen would be nice...

I guess I will make a request for the next version of the Roster for this functionality.

Thanks for the response.

Add-on Menu Config

It won't be in 1x. There's some nice configurable menu code in the adminpanel branch but I doubt we're gonna integrate it into trunk. It's almost sure the menu in R2 will be more configurable though.

You might be able to hardcode a menu button configuration by editing menu.php, but that's at your own risk.

Hi,

Too me, the addons appear in the order they where added to
the roster, so I suppose you could delete all the addons from
your server then upload one at a time in the order you want
the buttons too display, then display the roster, then upload
the next addon....... and so on.
It should not destroy anything that is in the database.
If you using siggen then you would have to regenerate any
sigs/avs that had been created, but thats not too much of a
hardship unless of course a lot of bespoke images hve been
upoaded.

I might try this soon to see if it does work like that, I will reply
back here when done, of course if someone else tries it then
let us know.
