Postby Ymryl » Sat Feb 10, 2007 10:03 pm

Hello All. I've made my Guild Recruitment block and Application module files available in the downloads area. You can see them in action on my guild site here.

Looking forward to any feedback you may have :)

I'll see about adding the BC attunements this week. Anaxent is currently working on moving the configuration settings into the admin module and posting to the forum rather than email for Dragonfly. We may be able to modify his forum code to work with phpBB, have to wait to see what he comes up with. His idea of moving the config settings is definitely worth doing, I'll probably make that change as well when I add the BC attunements.

Thanks for the feed back :)

Cablespider, I haven't forgotten about you. I think you need a bit of customization to best suit your website. You really need an expanded recruitment block to show both realms and their specific class desirability as well as radio buttons added to the application form for realm selection. Let me chew on it a bit and I'll see if I can modify the latest files for you.

It's all good. I'm not expecting anything more than what I have. Just thought I'd chime in and say it's a great addition to the site.

This is an awesome module. Great work! Our guild's website is hosted using phpBB. Do you know if there is anything like this for that?

Guild recruitment block and Application modules

I am going to download and try this out later today. I would love to see this post the information into the nuke forum. Probably have to mod it slightly to have it post the full app including email address, name, etc in a private forum and the pertinent character info into the general recruitment thread.

Looking at the work being done for the DF module, I can only hope that all that functionality makes it into the PHP-Nuke version.

`druid` varchar(32) coll

im using phpmy mysql v. 4.1.11

Sorry I haven't replied in a few days, been really busy with work.

I've never used the phpBB portal system but I'm sure this could be used on it with some modifications. You may want to post over in the phpBB forum area asking one of the guys over there to take a look.

Same goes for Joomla. Feel free to hack and slash at the code all you want :)

As far as the database issue goes, I'll have to create a v4 MySQL database to try and recreate the error. My web hosting company installed MySQL 5 and had everyone upgrade to it as v4 is no longer going to be supported. You may want to check with your host to see if MySQL 5 databases are available or not.

I reworked the application form. I have added Jewel Crafting as a profession selection (can't believe I missed that), added three more resistances and all of the BC keys. I really want to move the configuration files contents into the admin area (with the settings stored in the database) before I release an update here. But feel free to PM me if you want the updated form files (2 files: request_form.php and confirm.php) before then.
