DF Guild Application w/ Recruitment Block

Postby Anaxent » Thu Feb 08, 2007 8:39 pm

Oh and to let you know I have started working with Ymryl code instead of Join_Us. All seen here at http://wow-deception.com
I do have this posting to the forums but forsome reason it is not posting as a new topic I am working with ForumsPro as It is much better then the origanal version of the forums that DF offers and will import your old DF version if you would like. I am using a string that should work as it is working for post_id but everytime I submit an app it shows the topic_id is 0
$topic_id = $db->sql_nextid('topic_id');

Awesome. Definately keep us posted, and if you need any kind of beta testing done, I am sure more than one person here would be willing.

I am still currently running a standard DF site with the Join-Us module. I patiently away this block, along with RosterDF (1.7.3 at this point?)

Keep up the good work!

and check your PMs.. i sent you one a few weeks ago =)

So right now, this module doesn't post neither on forums nor mail?

Wow, haven't been to this website in a couple of days (flu almost killed me, or at least felt like it was). Nice work Anaxent, I have been working on something like that, but I don't code too well and none of my stuff works so I'll stop working on mine. I never really got that far either..

I have uploaded a new .zip file to my server containing the files needed for the admin panel. Those of you that have the link from me via PM are welcome to grab the latest version if you'd like.

I'll see about getting up here as a download this weekend.

Ymryl has let me download and use his version of the application module I have redesigned it to work in df as a module. i know this does need alot more work and a few new ideas added. for now this module don't work completly as I comented out the mail function as I was building a forum post function for forumspro which I have also comented out due to needing a bit of advice from you all. for now this module will install and as an admin you can set the class needed variables.

Well guys I have been able to have this module post to the forums after the user applys. I am also working on full site registration to the app as well so when the user applys it will add that user to the site for the admin to aprove maybe even build into the control panel all the non-approved users with a button to aprove them or even a trigger file for roster once added tot he guild roster auto aprove the user that has applied. I would like to add bbcode options to the text area blocks so users can use itemstats to add there gear. I am also looking into having this app post to diffrent foums_id based off the class appling too. i will ost a new version of this alpha here soon for now you can test it and see it in action at http://wow-deception.com

for some strange reason the administrator icon will not appear in my admin menu. Nor is there a link anywhere to get to the admin section of the module. I can still get there by typing in the URL (admin.php?op=Application) and I can edit it from there. Just thought it was a little strange to not have an admin icon. I checked the file directory and there is an admin folder with a .gif admin icon....weird. Anyway, just thought I would let you know.

Thx, I have not really converted anything to the admin section yet but do have the variables in place to allow per class forum posts meaninf if you area druid you would post to forum id 1 with a new topic and mage forum id 3 and so on or just default to what ever number you choose. I need to get this in the admin section I have also tinkered with the registeration.pgp from the Your_Account module to maybe get user registration to the site at the same time of the post...

`warlock` varchar( 32 ) COLLATE latin1_general_ci NOT NULL ,
`warrior` varchar( 32 ) COLLATE latin1_general_ci NOT NULL
) TYPE = MYISAM

MySQL meldet:
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax.  Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'COLLATE latin1_general_ci NOT  NULL ,

Remove the COLLATE latin1_general_ci from each line and try it again.
