Sync Roster with a phpBB group

Over the weekend i wrote a very crude mod that will allow Roster to sync a phpBB group.

You basically specify a group number to keep synced. Click the button on Roster and it will remove all members from that group then try to match usernames from phpBB and WoW ingame names. If a match is found then they are placed back in the group.

(Obviously it requires that phpBB users have the same username as there in-game name)

Seems to work well for me. As yet i havnt wrote anything about ranks, i may do in the future. So that a "Officer" and a "Trialist" can go in seperate groups.

Let me know if your interested, i wont bother submitting it if no-one cares.

Just downloaded and tested the mod, brilliant! Very handy. Would it be possible to do group matching/exclusion? So that as you say at the top of this thread, officers could go into an officers phpbbgroup and ditto for other group names, maybe there could be a section of the conf file with the group names to match between phpbb and wowroster?

yeh thats the plan for the next release. Il prob do an array mapping of Guild Rank -> phpBB group... works for what i want atm tho so

I downloaded and installed it.

I don't get any errors when running it but it also doesn't populate the group.

Does wowroster and phpbb need to share same database?

yes, in this version they do.

However i will look at adding 2 login definitions for 2 databases, that should allow seperate locations for them (them being Roster and phpBB).

thanks for the quick update. I'm learing how to copy the tables into the phpbb database... so far no luck with myphpadmin seem to get an error on one of the tables. i'm going to try for an export and an import next.
