These files were "save as" straight from Photoshop, created in Photoshop.
BTW, JPEG, and JPG are very different file format, you may want to allow both, or better yet, allow the user to list their preferred file formats.
These same gif and jpg files upload with ASPupload, ColdFusion upload and a few random Perl scripts I have on hand.
No offense, but your asking from trouble, look for an extension name, don't get too picky on the file's binary contents.
I won't ask my users to go through the hassle of finding very specific programs to convert, and having to reconvert already converted GIFs and JPGs. They already have images posted to the forums, I was just looking for a new option to give them. I'll uninstall.
