Hi all,

I actually have two problems here. I did a clean install of V1.7,1. Everything goes smoothly until I try to update the roster info.
If I user Internet Exporer to configure the roster, I get a page cannot be displayed (cannot find DNS/Server). BUT, for a split second after I enter my Roster adm password I can see the roster config page then the page cannot be displayed screen comes up.

So, I tried Mozilla. Yay! Now I can log on and get to config page, but none of the LINKs and the left hand side work, except Roster Diag and Roster Documentation. Here is resultes for roster diag http://www.kwsn-wow.com/roster/rosterdiag.php.

So I cannot modify my roster info. IF I click on Menu or Index Page, nothing happens. Any ideas?

BTW no errors, just doesnt respond.

Try re-uploading the roster files to your web server

Ok. So I Started completely from scratch. I deleted the old Roster from my Site. Then I redownload roster 171 with no image pack. I then uploaded than newly downloaded pack to my site. I deleted and recreated my SQL database. Then I ran the Install. The install goes smooth. I download the conf file and upload it to my roster directory and delete \install, install.php, upgrade.php. Then I hit <Finish Config> it goes to the roster admin page. I enter in my password then thats when things go wacky.

Again, if using IE, I get a normal "page cannot be displayed" to the address http://www.kwsn-wow.com/roster/admin.php. (I saw this post and it sounds similar to my problem - http://www.wowroster.net/Forums/viewtop ... rt=15.html )

But if I use Firefox, it then goes into the Roster Config page, but none of the links on the left respond when I click on em. Except documents and Roster Diag - here is the link for that for review http://www.kwsn-wow.com/roster/rosterdiag.php . There are some errors at the bottom, but i have no idea what they refer to.

So.. im burnt out .. Could it be something with my host that causing the problem? However version 1.7.0 worked fine. Any ideas what I should look for? Keep in mind I am a beginner. I am willing to let you look at anything on my server, if it helps.

We did change the code for the "side tabs" in Roster 1.7.1

I dunno if it's possible that your host is somehow hindering something in the new code

Can you check your error log and see if there are any warnings or errors?

my config is doing exactly the same, insofar as cannot use left column links.

the links that appear in IE's status bar are ones in the format of

Well, the links are supposed to look like that because with IE6, you have to link to an anchor to make onclick events work correctly

I'm seriously stumped on this one...

This same thing is happening to me now. I had a perfectly functioning install of Roster 1.7.1. I then installed Main/Alt add-on did the update relations 2 or 3 times to find out that there were some other configs I was supposed to do and next thing I new I couldn't get to my roster config screens (even for the mani/alt addon).

I don't know if this helps or not but the first screen I come to for the Roster Config shows up blank I'm trying to re-upload the roster files again as in the post above (hoping it doesn't fubar me, seeing as how mine is not a new installation) and I'll let you know how that goes.

I don't know what happened but when I re-uploaded my files, the config page worked again.

Also as an FYI I re-uploaded my AltMain addon and was able to view those configs as well.

I checked my error logs. Didnt see anything Roster related. Just some BB errors from an old link on my site.

Did u upload the entire Roster or specific files? because ive tried re uploading the roster several times now. Ive used Smartftp and filezilla, what do u guys us?

This is just a bump to see if anyone has any ideas...

Zanax, is the admin folder supposed to be empty?
Also I noticed when I right click on one of the side links "Display Config" for example and go to properties Modzilla say Display_Conf as a relationship. Is that refering to another link or file? Should that exist somwhere?

To add on the problem a little, I also noticed the password reset Box on the right hand side also doesnt appear as well as the middle menu window to change the settings?

Should there be something im my .htaccess? Currently, it is empty.

If I cant fix soon, I am going to try rolling back to the old 1.7 roster. You guys wouldnt happen to have that archived somewhere do you?

- Yes, the admin folder is empty for Roster 1.7.1
- Yes, the side links have the relationship attribute set. This property is used by the javascript controlling the tabbing
- The change password box is showing fine here, as do the setting pages. If they aren't showing up correctly with you, try force-reloading the page. The javascript has changed since 1.7.0, and your browser may be loading the old one from its cache.

I did try cleaing my temp Files/cookies and refreshing page, but unfortunately it didnt help. I PM'd you my Config password so you can see whats going on.
