WoWRoster 1.7.1 Released!

After a grueling period of coding, testing, and partying...
Roster 1.7.1 is finally released

There have been a lot of changes in this version and we hope you will like them

Someone deleted 1.70 from downloads..

We (those of us on braindead hosts who cannot change to a more modern one ) need to be able to backtrack to this release for compatibility reasons (roster 1.71 will not run *at all* on less than 4.10 (yah i tried.. no go!)

Can we have the old version up as an archive please?

I re-uploaded 1.7.1 to change the 4.1.0 requirements some time last night
Re-download and try it again

That's the full package which includes the interface image pack

The "no_interface_images" one is 4.24 megs
This one does not include the interface images

Maybe a dumb question, but I checked the Wiki and the installation forum, but how do you recommend people upgrading from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1? Should we uninstall 1.7.0 and then install 1.7.1, or overwrite 1.7.0 files?

If your like me and don't want to go through and reinstall the whole roster from scratch I have a solution. I did a mass compare of files between 1.7.0 and 1.7.1 and will have it posted shortly. You can use this to go through file by file and make the changes yourself.

forewarning. there is alot to change.

note: if there is only 1 change to a file (see the number in the middle of the report page) then the file probably only had it's ID line changed, which isn't a update that has to be made. But i haven't checked ever file so this might not be the case with everything.

Lol, I think I would rather do a fresh install and install the addons over again. There isn't much configurable with the roster itself, so it seems much easier to me. I figured I'd wait about a week after the release and see how people got along with upgrades... seems like a total nightmare so far.

i ahve made so many changes to my roster already, one major one is it is no longer nested inside the /roster/ directory but in the main folder with the other files. easier to make the roster integrate with the rest of the site.

Also other code changes have been done. So it's not as easy for me to go in and jsut delete whats there and upload the new version. this way is the common way to upgrade phpBB forums, so i'm vary much used to it.

Well, in this case it wasn't easily doable since the site crash caused us to lose the SVN copy of roster 1.7.0 and it was never reinserted.
I guess for a future release we could have SVN create a unified DIFF and release that semi-officially. Would still require you to run the DB installer.

I am going to see if I can get an earlier version that actually works...

This is my first time installing it and I am 100% postitive everything went as planned but, I cannot configure 1.7.1. None of the links work at all and in IE6 I get a little snippit of javascript error.
