Announcements Initial Release

Features Include:
- Add, Edit, and Delete announcements
- Displays all announcements when users click the menu button
- Draft mode allows you to save drafts before publishing. Good for those long posts, rants, or raves.
- HTML compatible: Allows images, links, and text formatting

NOTE: When you first run the add on, you will get a database error. Just click install database, and you should be good after that.

The download link will be added as soon as an administrator approves the file.

I'd like to continue to improve and add to this. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

try removing AUTO_INCREMENT=1 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 COLLATE=latin1_general_ci fom the db.php file should fix the issue for people

I'll try that out. Thanks.

The problem is that when I try a connection to the database for the first time to verify if the tables are there, it errors out. I'll patch that asap. Im using that as a method to trigger the db setup.

hi,
good idea !!!

just suggest :

- posting automaticaly in first page of roster ( not with pushing annoucements bouton )
or
- post a part of post in front page with link in annoucement section for preserve space on roster

using push bouton to read announce is not so good for that all members read important messages...

Your ideas have been added to the next version. The next version of Announce will be available when 1.7.1 is released.

Continue to use the existing version, as no database changes will be needed.
