I've searched but I can find this discussed elsewhere.

I'd like to set my roster display for Per Character Display for most options (to achieve max participation - we have lots of people who think it's "invasive"

The issue is when you set Roster to work that way the default for members is always "on. And you can't switch it to off until they upload - so there is a window of time when their info is available and thus the issue.

Is there a way (even if I have to edit the db manually) to set options to Off so that when someone uploads, it will be off right from the start and then for those people who do want to show the info, I can then turn it On?

I realize I can turn things off Globally, but then it's off for everyone and those who want to show can't have it shown...

You can set them to off for all users who are in your guild at the time of the edit by running the query:

UPDATE `roster_members` SET `inv`=1, `talents`=1, `quests`=1, `bank`=1, `spellbook`=1, `mail`=1, `recipes`=1, `bg`=1, `pvp`=1, `duels`=1, `money`=1, `item_bonuses`=1

Then you can change it for new members by changing the default values for those columns.
