French localization

Postby Eridoxi » Sat Mar 03, 2007 1:35 pm

Hi !
I found this addon wonderful so I've begun to localize it in french.

But it really is a beginning : I've only made a few macro replacement so in most case it won't work.

The truth is that I will update this localization each time a guild member will report me a new gem or enchant since I really don't have enough time to do it.

So don't hope anything from this, it's just for the people who use it and will do the same.

So please if you are a french user just do the same thing as me and post your files on this site so that we could easily make a french localisation.

What you have to do is ONLY to replace the bonuses descriptions ('txt' => 'ikghki' field).

[There's also a problem with accents, I guess that it may be because of the character type used by the roster : for instance, a search for an à when it is writen 'à' or '& agrave;' (with no space between & and a of course => there's no way to display it properly^^) doesn't work.] => problem solved, go and check messages a few ones later^^

Help this localization ! :)

Yeah great job Badsnake :)

I just understood why I had a pb with accents : I had to reincode the file in UTF-8.

I've just made a few modifications to yours :

Corrected a little mistake ('aux score' => 'au score')
Added resistance translations.
Added skinning translation.
Added "blabla rating" translation remaining.
Corrected a few translations such as 'au score de...' to 'Score de...'... (no one begins with 'au now^^).
And a few others translations.

Now enjoy ;-) I hope that the next users will make the few translations remaining (Since Badsnake almost did everything ;-))

French localization

Postby aniodon » Sat Mar 03, 2007 8:43 pm

Hi everyone,

First : thank you all for this great work!!!

I tried it tonight, works fine. But i don't have any signatures working since the update, am i the only one ?

Anio

PS: The problem seem to be on the settings.php file, since i restored it and signatures works fine then.

I have the same issue and I also have a few other problems since I've installed it ==> the server status doesn't work anymore, the guild message isn't shown properly and a few pb with the config panel.

The problem seems to come from a header conflict between WoW_IDs.php and the roster. (the addon is activated thanks to the modification in Settings.php aniodon)

As soon as I'll have enough time I'll check this and try to fix it.

It may com from the revision Badsnake translated.

You need to remove the extra line after ?> in WoW_IDs.php (at the end of the file)

French localization

Postby Eridoxi » Sat Mar 03, 2007 10:17 pm

I did and it does not solve the problem.

I've identified it : to make it work, the file needs to be encoded in UTF-8 so that it could compare the accentuated character properly.
And the pb is that the roster files are NOT encoded in UTF-8 format.
So it does not work properly and I guess that the only way to make it work properly is to convert every roster file into UTF-8 :'(

I am talking about the problem with it breaking the Signatures and Guild MoTD / Server status images.

Not sure about the encoding. I assume you are correct though.

I just tested and it's just as I thought : in UTF-8 the roster does not work properly whereas in ANSI everithing works perfectly.

I've joined the last version with this message and without the ?> at the end.

It's encoded in UTF-8 so if you want the description with accents not work properly and the roster work, just encode it in ANSI by opening it in notepad and saving it as... then choose ANSI instead of UTF-8 at the bottom of the dialog box.

W00t I finally found out how to do it !!!

We have to let the file be in ANSI so that the roster may work properly.

For the accentuated characters, don't type they using your keyboard but this table (at the beginning I tried html character but it didn't work, just like normal one) :
é = é

è = è

ç = ç

ê = ê

à = Ã
(sur 2 caractères et attention pour celui-ci le caractère terminal n'est pas un espace conventionnel => pour le taper trouvez un "Ã " dans le fichier, copiez le et collez le à l'emplacement désiré).
ô = ô

â = â

î = î

ï = ï

I made the changes to the file so that it work properly.

The file updated is the definitive encoded type that should be used so please make your improvment on this file only (and the next one of course^^).

I'll edit my other posts to join the proper file and delete the other ones.

Just see that I've made a little mistake so you may have a problem with gems with an à.

I just corrected it, here is the last version.

Sorry.
