Character Not Found after 1.7.0 -> 1.7.1

I did an upgrade from roster 1.7.0 to 1.7.1

Now, when I select a character from the index page it returns
"Sorry no data in database for "charname" of "servername".

My server is Aman'Thul. Could it be because of the ' in the servername?
The server name appears correct in players table in the db though.

I am able to upload char data. And other pages appear to load fine.

Didn't help either. I set it to AmanThul and then back to Aman'Thul (it just pops "No changes have been made" if one don't change anything).

I wouldn't be able to upload data if the server name was not spelled correctly, would I?

Well, since nobody posted a similar problem, it must be a mistake on my side (I did follow the instructions though

There is another post with the same problem on the server Un'Goro after a fresh install. Link to the other thread (unfortunately in german).

So it appears to be a problem with ' ? Well I'm reinserting the db than a rolling "back" to 1.7.1. Maybe a solution will be found.

Coldfinger made the following obsevation in the german thread to this problem (link in the post above)

1. Click on a character on the index page
2. In the char page remove &server=[Servername] from the adress
Then it's there

You have to remove it for every char section (quests, recepies etc.)

Find around lines 361-363

Code: Select all: // Update only the changed fields foreach( $_POST as $settingName => $settingValue ) {

Add After

Code: Select all: $settingValue = stripslashes($settingValue);

Let me know if it works

Enter another realmname in config, then enter yours again

I am getting this on eldre'thalas

here is what i noticed

1. All info is being uploaded fine.
2. the mods seem to work like item resists will still work and you can click on the FR for example and it will tell you what you need for it.
3. I think its a bug in the members page itself as its the only place it doesn't work. If you notice it is parsing the /' so it will display as text and not code.

ok. I didn't try that code yet. where do i edit it.. there is alot of If statements I dont want to mess up
